For many faults, our engineers will need to access your computer remotely. This can give us access to your network and phones, or to help diagnose internet problems. This can save our engineers having to come out to you in person and can speed up the resolution of faults.

Usually when we need to gain remote access we will call you up and guide you through it over the phone. This guide may be useful for future reference however.

The fast way

Visit www.midlandnetworks.help and wait.

This is the quickest and most efficient way to download TeamViewer. You will be given a box with an ID and password on it. The password may be starred out - this is okay. Give this username and password to one of our team over the phone or via a ticket, whichever is easiest for you.

If this method doesn't work, you can also download TeamViewer from our website.

Via our website

 Go to www.midlandnetworks.co.uk

Step 2

Hover over the 'DOWNLOADS' button on the bar at the top of the screen and select 'Support App'

Step 3

This should take you to the following screen. Select 'run' in the dialogue box displayed. The box may also say download or save and then prompt you to run after you have selected one of these options.

Step 4

The application may prompt you to confirm you want it to make changes to your computer - if so select 'yes'.

Step 5

The following box should display on your screen. It will give you an ID and have a starred out password. Please give us this ID, either over the phone or you can send it through a ticket if applicable.

While an engineer remote accesses your computer, it is important to keep this box running. You may minimize it but do not close it down or close down your computer. Closing down the box will end the remote session.

In some cases you may encounter an error reading: "Another instance of TeamViewer is already running. Please close this instance before restarting TeamViewer." If this occurs please close down any instance of Teamviewer already running. Check the bottom right of your desktop for the Teamviewer icon and right-click on it to close it.

Then re-follow the above steps.
